Personal Fitness Merit Badge Reminders

Our Scouts started their Personal Fitness Merit Badge on Monday, September 18. This is an Eagle MB, and there is a 12 week work out plan that is a requirement to earn this Merit Badge.  As a group, all of our Scouts agreed to the following minimum work out plan for the next 12 weeks:

Calling Troop 635 Adults,

We need you!  BSA Policy Update: As of September 1, 2023, adults attending overnights must be registered with the BSA, and a minimum of two registered adults per event.

Please take a moment to complete our Campout Interest Poll (link below) so we can gauge the level of available adult participation through August 2024.  The scouts have an exciting year of campouts and outdoor activities planned that depend on your involvement...

T635 NYLT Scholarship Awarded

Congratulations to Wyatt for being awarded the NYLT Scholarship to attend NYLT Week 4!

Congratulations also go out to our ASPLs Drew and Liam for completing Course 1 this past June.  Keep up the great work guys!

IOLS Registration Open (Adult Leader Training)

Training Opportunity for Registered Adult Leaders Participating in Troop Overnights:

Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills for Troop (IOLS) is being offered by Dan Beard Council this October.  There are two offerings to choose from:
Option 1 @ Camp Michael's October 13 & 14 <Click Here> to register, or
Option 2 @ Izaak Walton Oct 27 & 28 <Click Here>.
Space is limited.  $25.

Course Description:
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) gives adult leaders the practical knowledge they need to help Scouts to learn outdoor skills. The skills presented closely follow the Boy Scout Handbook and rank advancement requirements. All the skills from Tenderfoot to First Class are covered in this training.

This is a required training course for all Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters. It is also encouraged for anyone who will be participating on campouts regularly to consider taking this class. The training is designed to help all adult leaders regardless of experience level feel comfortable performing and supervising these skills with youth.
